What Every Traveller Should Know in 2025

Starting 1 May 2025, the Immigration Bureau of Thailand will officially replace the traditional paper TM.6 arrival card with a new Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) system.

From that date, all foreign visitors entering Thailand — whether by air, land, or sea — must complete their arrival information electronically before traveling.

This marks an important step in Thailand’s ongoing digital transformation of immigration procedures, aimed at making travel smoother, faster, and more convenient for everyone.

💻 What Is the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC)?

The TDAC is a new online system developed and managed by the Immigration Bureau of Thailand. It replaces the old paper arrival card (TM.6) that visitors used to fill out upon entering the country.

The digital version will:

  • Simplify immigration processing

  • Reduce paperwork

  • Enhance data accuracy and security

  • Make entry faster and more convenient for travellers

Completing the TDAC will be mandatory for all foreign passport holders, including:

  • Tourists

  • Business travellers

  • Long-term residents and retirees

The only exceptions are:

  • Travellers who are transiting or transferring through Thailand without clearing immigration

  • Travellers entering with a Border Pass

🗓️ When and How to Submit the TDAC

You can submit your Thailand Digital Arrival Card up to three days before arrival. For example:

If your flight arrives on 5 May, you may complete your TDAC anytime from 2 May onward.

The system will go live on 28 April 2025, allowing early submissions for those arriving on launch day.

🔗 Official submission portal:

Travellers can submit:

  • Individually, or

  • As part of a group (for families or tour groups)

You’ll be able to edit or update your details anytime before travel.

🧾 What Information Is Required?

When completing the TDAC, travellers will need to provide:

  • Passport details

  • Personal information

  • Travel and flight details

  • Accommodation address in Thailand

  • Basic health declaration

If you live in Thailand long-term, you should select “Thailand” as your country of residence once that option becomes available in the system.

🚪 What If You Can’t Submit in Advance?

In exceptional cases — for example, if you don’t have internet access before your flight — you can still complete the TDAC at designated help points located at immigration checkpoints.

However, authorities emphasize that this is for emergencies only, and all travellers are strongly encouraged to fill out the TDAC online beforehand to avoid long queues and delays at the airport or border crossing.

✈️ In Summary

  • 🗓️ Launch date: 1 May 2025

  • 💻 Submit via: tdac.immigration.go.th
